parental visit, day 1 (of 2)
Am at a point with parents-in-town now where we're all satisfied just to be in the same place, so there's no need to Schedule Things. This is good. Used to be I [felt I] had to Plan Stuff, and it became exhausting and stressful, because entertaining is hard; now, my folks no longer count as company, so I don't really have to entertain them at all.
Picked them up at the airport. We went for lunch, and then tried to shop recreationally but our hearts weren't in it. Came home, stopping off for mom's specifically requested Mother's Day white chocolate en route. :-) Tomorrow, nothing on the agenda until concert time, and then we have Fancy Reservations for Mother's Day. And Monday morning I will go to work and by the time I come home they'll have gone.
Time to make the matzo balls. Yay soup. (The only bad thing is with all this free time to relax in, I can't work on the Rambling Rows afghan, because it is their anniversary present and you know how I am about surprises. Sigh. I can knit on something else, but I do keenly feel the loss of all this prime knitting time in which I am making no progress. Heh.)
