Today's rejection letter ...
... came from NYU. ("Please be aware that the applications for admission this year have been particularly strong and many excellent candidates have been denied admission.")
So, for those keeping score, that's three down and one to go. Ironically, the only school I have yet to hear from is simultaneously (a) my first choice, (b) the highest-ranked of the programs I applied to, and (c) the one whose shortlist I was given to believe I had not made, a little bit ago.
My horoscope today cautioned me not to equate delay with defeat. I do keep reminding myself that as long as they haven't said anything, they haven't said no.
But I'm also thinking hard about what else I might do with myself, come fall.
