help?

Medium-dark greasy spot on white wool carpet. A little water, a little toothpaste, a little 1:5 dilute bleach, and I feel like I can still see it - but on the other hand it's still damp and the fibers have been disturbed with the scrubbing. Assuming it's still there, who has other suggestions?
