As you may have heard, LJ is about to make "gender" a mandatory field for account creation, and! as if that weren't enough!, they're removing the "unspecified" option. Charming!
I have always had my gender specification set to "unspecified", as it happens, and if I hadn't, I'd be setting it that way now at LJ's edit profile. I will also be registering my disappointment with the poor defenseless Feedback-readers at http://www.livejournal.com/contact/?dept=feedback , and e-mailing Anjelika, GM of US operations, at anjelika@livejournalinc.com . I encourage you to do the same.
I may also mention that I have ten or eleven DreamWidth invites just sitting here doing nothing. If, you know, you happen to be interested.
