in which i am (apparently) cursed!

So my car threw a tire last night on the OH turnpike. Called this morning and made an appointment for Wednesday to have them take a look at it, replace the tire, reassure me that the others are not down to threads, etc. Therefore, for my trip to visit high school friend C and her new baby, @3 hours away, on Tuesday, I was going to borrow my mother's car.

Today, we were out running errands when I said "Does this car always make that noise?" and my brother reminded my mother that my sister-in-law had commented on the odd noise the car seemed to be making on the way home from the airport yesterday afternoon, and Mom decided she'd feel better about my taking the thing to Michigan and back if someone more knowledgeable than the three of us could be confident it was nothing to worry about, so we took it to her dealership, and long story short, the sound we heard was a hinky wheel bearing!, and the car is going in to be fixed tomorrow, so for the trip to visit high school friend C and her new baby I'm going to borrow my father's car.

Let us not please try to predict what will go wrong with the wheels of my father's car between here and Ann Arbor.

I reached the end of the skein in the baby blanket I'm making for C's new baby, but alas it is not the end of the blanket - and did I bring the next skein with me? I did not. I knew there was something going to get overlooked in the extreme project that was getting me out of the house on Sunday, and it seems that was it. No worries. I will bring it along and show them, and mail it from home when it's finished.

I also still have a handful of Christmas presents to acquire. Fortunately there's time to do that.
