I'm not bound at the moment to my cell phone contract. I've been thinking about an iPhone for a while now.

And of course AT&T has announced that they're going to turn into pumpkins assholes on June 7. I almost certainly wouldn't hit the data limit and don't have any plans to tether, but as another friend of mine said elsewhere, it's the principle of the thing.

SO: should I buy an iPhone this weekend?, is really the question. Thoughts?

Do you really think the tiered pricing is assholish? It's a change, certainly, but I'm not having a problem with the concept of charging heavy users more.

And for the record, I adore my iPhone, and I haven't had much trouble with AT&T's network, although that might be as much a function of where I live as anything.

Eh. If you were really truly going to get one? Maybe so, because you can go down to the new pricing later, no?

BUT...I really think there's no rush, because the tier is probably not a problem. So if you were planning to wait, or even planning to wait longer for Verizon (which now sounds actual and soon) or for the rumored iPhone4G...wait.

I totally love my iphone, fwiw. It's adorable and shiny, and I can read email on it, and play on the internets, and there's an irc app, and an ocarina app, and it is just made of win.

YMMV, but that's my opinion. :-)
