a Very Careful Experiment, part two
Today's sample is Silk Live! soy yogurt, blueberry flavor.
Details: one 6oz cup has 150 calories, 20 from fat; that's 2g of fat; 25mg sodium; 29g carbs, of which 1g is dietary fiber and 21g are sugars, and 4g of protein. Active cultures include L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, L. acidophilus, B. Bifidum, L. casei, and L. rhamnosus. Four Weight Watchers points, if you're interested in that sort of thing. It claims to be both dairy free and kosher dairy, which drives me bats just in terms of logic - if I were a vegan I'd probably be tearing my hair out.
Today's yogurt is blended and entirely smooth, with no fruit bits in. It's thicker than the coconut milk yogurt but not as thick as I, personally, like my dairy yogurt. It is quite purple.
It is, if possible, even sweeter than yesterday's coconut adventure. There's some blueberriness in the top notes but it's hardly fruity and not at all tart. I know the tartness isn't the only reason people bother to eat cultured milk products, but really. I do like the slightly thicker consistency, but the flavor is not remotely interesting and I don't see myself buying it again.
Final grade: B.
