okay, you know what?
When I decide to ditch Bank of America even though they have always treated me just fine, because I agree that they have treated other people unfairly and like crap, so I open an account with the state employees' credit union, whereby I get a fee-free checking account provided there is a direct deposit each month (and arrange to have my direct deposit redirected for that purpose) and unlimited free checks in the bland ordinary style, and I make the requisite deposits and order two boxes of the bland ordinary checks, you know what's disappointing?
Logging on to online banking when I am finally able to do so and finding that my brand-new checking account is in the red because they charged me for two boxes of (free!) checks and then HIT ME WITH AN INSUFFICIENT-FUNDS FEE.
I reiterate: I have personally never had a single issue with Bank of America, and this is what the credit union gives me right out of the gate. NOT IMPRESSED.
Though the person I (finally) got on the phone was very nice about it and agreed it was a mistake and shouldn't have happened and the whole whack should be refunded to me by the end of the day.
