the fun, as they say, continues
It will shock no one that I didn't sleep very well last night.
I ultimately didn't have GC take me anywhere to get my ankle looked at. It's puffy but not grotesquely swollen, and there's no obvious bruising or contusion of any kind. And most of the time - that is, when I'm sitting down and have it elevated in just the right way so my leg doesn't fall asleep - it just aches dully. I can put weight on it. But taking weight off it, that is, rolling through a step, hurts quite a bit, so I can only walk with a slow limp that any minute now is going to cause me to do something uncomfortable to my other leg. So we didn't go to the ER last night, but I'm going to pop over to the walk-in (or limp-in) place today and have them either tell me to stay more off it than I've been doing, or reassure me that it's fine, because that sort of reassurance is much more reassuring coming from a qualified person than from the inside of my own head trying to convince myself, you know?
Also, as we were getting ready for bed I realized I was out of contacts at GC's place. Normally I keep some there and an extra pair in my bag or my makeup case or both, but last night was the perfect storm where I'd used up all of them and all the reserves, or the reserves were in my other bag, or whatever, so feh. And I didn't have my glasses with me. At least I realized this before I'd taken yesterday's contacts out and thrown them away; I can sleep in them, though I prefer not to, because it makes my eyes all gluey, which this morning they really, really were. Those contacts are still in my eyes, and blehhh.
Strange dreams that I can't really remember.
I woke up very early. Himself was already in the other room surfing the internet, and had turned his alarm off since he didn't need it and mine is set for later - so he was very surprised when I came in to say hi. ("You're awake. ... Did you sleep at all?" Which only made me worry that he hadn't slept at all, and had observed me tossing and turning all night. But no. So that's all right.)
Computer issues at work this morning, but they seem to be resolved.
I took the compression brace off my foot about half an hour ago, and my toes are still kind of tingly, which makes me think it's not that the brace is a little snug that was making my toes kind of tingly. I shall go have it looked at and then even assuming they just confirm my self-diagnosis - yep, looks a bit sprained - I'll feel validated.
