further to the previous

Kid came home early from day camp yesterday feeling sort of crummy, but this morning he woke up feeling fine—and then the test we did out of an abundance of caution lit up hard, so that's good news for the folks back at camp who gave it to him in the first place, I guess, not that we're bitter or anything about having got through umpteen outbreaks at day care (where even carefully masked kids got it) only to have him get complacent about his mask wearing in a place a lot less rigorous about enforcement and pick the virus up more or less immediately.

Anyway, Himself and I tested negative this morning, but half an hour ago the prince was clowning around on the sofa with a blanket over his head and fell off onto the floor and banged his back on the coffee table on the way down, and of course he cried, and of course I picked him up, and he snuggled into me in such a way that his tears went in my eyes, so my bet is if I wasn't doomed to hit a positive test along about Monday morning, I am now.
