they said it couldn't be done, but i did it -- i sat down and wrote a goddamn draft of the statement of purpose. can't get into a phd program without one! (most people, of course, can't get in even with one, but that's neither here nor there.) biggest big thank-yous to drglam, who sent me a copy of her successful SoP (in genetics, but 'tever), without which i wouldn't have had clue one how to begin. love ya, flygrrl! mwah!
