what color would you make that left eye for "covetousness"?

so all of a sudden everyone's talking about BPAL, and i popped over to see what all the fuss was about.  (i believe i have a teensy vial of their "dragon's blood" that my aunt gave me for christmas some number of years ago.  actually -- i certainly have a teensy vial, aunt, christmas, "dragon's blood", etc.  the question is really just whether it's theirs or not.  [g])

anyway.  have read all the descriptions, and written down the dozen or so that i think it would be fun to try.  and found the website for the UK distributor!  where they don't have the same wide range.  feh.

weird sports that begin with C -- and then, the pain.

so, okay, you think falling and banging your knee on the ice hurts?

well, yes, it does.  BUT:

a cricket ball is small, and hard, and fast, and has a seam (a rougher seam than a baseball), and when it hits you right in the middle of the quadriceps?  twice?  yeah, that's a whole different kind of pain.

it would actually hurt less, i think, if it had hit the fat-cushioned inside of my thigh.  this got me right on the most muscular spot on my leg, and man, it hurts a bunch.  less than ten minutes later i could feel, through my jeans, that the spot had not only bruised but swollen -- there's a bump on my leg and it's on a tough muscle-y spot, as if i'd hit my head and had a goose-egg, only this is so emphatically not right over the bone.  i took a ball to the outside of the other leg, as well, right above the knee (the bowler was having some trouble finding the center, i was having some trouble resisting my softball-growing-up muscle memory, and the pads were the wrong size), but that's a much less painful spot.

i like this game a lot.  :-D
