for those of you it may interest:
i'm reasonably sure the other book was toujours provence.
in the past seventeen hours or so i've cleared three items of Ordinary Human Drama from my "to-do" list.
i still don't care about the job, but today was better than yesterday or monday, and stayed that way -- especially when i got in and the first thing i saw in my mailbox was a "well done" from T, important senior partner, for the work i'd stayed until 10:00 last night to finish, and then when J, fantastic junior associate, asked me for something she admitted was going to be tough to find and it turned out to be in the first place i looked. plus, i finally impressed upon the helpdesk that the network issues i've been having have been making it difficult~impossible to do my job properly (the trick is to say "I can't do my job properly under these conditions" and cc: someone who outranks you), and they sent someone down to fix the problem, so i can now, for example, send e-mails with attachments and not freeze my computer. or, for another example, print documents. huzzah for less suckage at work!
my apartment remains cluttered and unpacked and i still don't have any thoughts for
