so i have a document i'm trying to find if we produced or not. i fire up the database, in which is stored a lot of varied information about everything we've produced, linked to images of the documents themselves. thing is a lot of the entries are sort of subjective, people can spell things wrong, etc. so a person has to try a few different searches before concluding that the thing isn't there.

i search by title -- nothing. i search by part of the title -- nothing. i search by source code -- nothing.

oh, i say to myself. we've got a LANGUAGE= field here, and this document is in dutch, so i'll search for that.

responses to a search where LANGUAGE= contains 'dutch': 26.
number of these documents that are actually in norwegian: 22.

the attorney reviewing things in the middle of my room here finds this amusing (at least half the norwegian documents have the word "Oslo" on them!), but he's laughing while my poor little linguist's heart is breaking.
