the first lines meme.
your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write a drabble with the same first line as one of my stories, and leave it in my comments here.
some of my first lines follow.
-- Qui-Gon woke slowly, sure he was hearing someone call to him.
-- Obi-Wan did not know how much time passed before they found him.
-- There are times when I think it might just have been easier if I'd been born a mortal.
-- "Danny. I need your help."
-- When Jim Ellison was a kid, not long after his mother had split, he used to wake up in the middle of the night when Steven had nightmares.
-- Turnbull sighed inwardly as the door closed behind Constable Fraser.
-- As usual, Constable Fraser was on duty when Turnbull arrived on Friday.
-- The meeting place was the catacomb of the cathedral at Durham.
-- She's worried about him lately - he hasn't been sleeping.
that's nine. like a supreme court. good number. :-)
