yay, a postcard from
thermidor (who, incidentally, has lovely handwriting)!
the Yay was soon quashed, unfortunately, when I opened my front door and found my apartment Not As I Had Left It. i'm a pretty quick thinker -- in no time flat, i'd said to myself huh, that's -- wait -- SOMEONE'S BEEN HERE. (i live alone. nobody's supposed to Be Here but me.)
inspection of the apartment reveals that the Someone was just a maintenance crew, come to replace the shower head (presumably with something more water-economical). but they didn't leave a note -- not a hang-tag on the doorknob, which would be my preference, but not even a note anywhere inside the apartment, which for me is edging all the way up toward required. i mean. okay, on the one hand, i can certainly take care of myself -- but on the other hand, i'm a woman living alone and i've come home to a burgled apartment before, and on the third hand, SFW? a married man who's never been robbed ought to get a heads-up if he's going to find that someone who doesn't live in his house has been in there while nobody was home.
have written polite but stern note to property manager.
will now look at postcard again and try to resume Yay. :-/
