if your reason for not doing something is some idiosyncratic value code that not everybody necessarily shares, it's better to SAY SO than to beg off because you don't have the right accessories.
so the Useful Fuck-Buddy Arrangement comes to a screeching halt when it turns out that his attitude toward one activity is the same as my attitude toward another (only more so!), leaving an option in which i take and take and take but don't give, which is unsatisfactory to me.
