tuesday

hey, second morning in a row i've been awake in the morning.  like, at what people in the world consider reasonable or even early.  (got out of bed at 7:15.)

i could get used to this morning thing.  i could definitely get used to sleeping at night, you know what i'm saying?  (verdict on the new sheets, by the way:  HUZZAH.  smooth rather than scratchy, and big enough that they're not coming unwound from the end of the bed.  side point:  i don't understand the appeal of knit sheets.  you've seen the ones made from cotton jersey?  friend who loves them says "it's like sleeping in t-shirts."  i don't see this as a draw.  i really need sheets to be smooth, man.  i don't even like flannel.)

No flannel or jersey? You crazy. I actually had to get used to the thought, as I enjoy crisp, smooth sheets, but now I only like those in the Summer when it's hot out. When it's cold, I love something that's not chilly when you get into it and then it warms up even better than plain cotton and is there for maximum snuggling into. I prefer jersey to flannel though, because it's not quite so hot.

well -- i also sleep really warm, is the other thing, most of the time. your jersey preference because it's not so hot is the same thing as my plain cotton preference, really. :-) in the winter at my parents' house, i have an electric blanket that i switch on for a few minutes before getting into bed, but switch off once i'm in it.

but, actually, i dig, so probably instead of "i don't understand" i should have said "i don't share". :-D

Ah, see, and I sleep cold. Like '60 degrees in the room and a fan on me' cold. So, it all makes much more sense now. Plus, I live in t-shirts, so it's appropriate that I sleep with them, too. :)

nono -- i mean i get warm when i sleep. i don't know why. i keep the room at a decent temperature, but i don't tend to need to layer up with the socks and the PJs and the extra blankets, because i am warm. so i also don't need bedding that warms up more than regular. if you see what i mean.
