Make a list of all the characters in your icons.  (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.)  Alphabetize it.  Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing.  Second two people; second pairing.

i have more characters in my icons than i thought:

alexander dane (as dr. lazarus)/anya (who at least once says her last name is jenkins, but we know that's a lie, so i'm putting her here) -- it's possible his patience for her would be even less than his patience for any of the crap we see him deal with in the movie.  on the other hand, i suppose it's possible he'd find her forthrightness to be refreshing.

benton fraser/robert fraser -- gah. gah. gah. gah.

fiona (from four weddings and a funeral, whose last name we never learn)/daniel jackson -- well, she'd kill him, but apart from that?  (wouldn't she?  i'm afraid i don't know daniel that well.)

remus lupin/jack o'neill -- i don't know jack well enough to be sure about this, but my sense is that this is just a bad fit.

quellek (thermians only use one name, as far as we can tell)/anakin skywalker -- poor quellek.  poor, poor, poor quellek.  at least he won't suffer for very long.

severus snape/captain jack sparrow -- ahhhahhahhahhahahahhahhahahaha ...
