He glanced quickly about to ensure that he was alone, and Disapparated.
Although really, your sample quote isn't vague at all. The source of "Very well, then," is easy: both Snape and Harry say it in "Best Man."
I decided to play this as an excuse to pop in and say how much I've enjoyed your stories, and that I've friended you. The series which begins with "Credulity and Conviction" is such good fiction, with so many strengths, that I'm just knocked back on my heels.
It's hard to single out the one most impressive aspect of your writing, but I think what made the biggest impact on me was the astonshingly good character development. Each story in that series is from a different POV, but you are equally successful at getting inside the head of each character, and really giving a sense for how each one thinks, and how each one sees his place in the world.
Lucius in "Root and Branch" is simply a masterpiece. He's not the gaudy, over-the-top Lord of Non Con you get in some stories. But you convey his selfishness and viciousness in a more blunt, low key fashion that is utterly compelling and persuasive. I've never hated him more.
And you are particularly gifted at writing the sex in such a way that it speaks volumes about each character's personality, and also about the larger truths of the relationship between the two people, at that moment.
At any rate, thanks so much for these stories. They're a marvelous gift to the fandom.

Now, can you tell me where I got that quote?
