1.Elaborate on your default icon.
I've recently changed it, actually.  It used to be a kit fox on a blue background, which is the icon for my bit of my website as well.  But I was hardly ever using it, so I switched it out for the one I'd been mainly using if I didn't have a reason to use another, which is "ceci n'est pas une fox".  A ... couple of years or so ago, I wanted an icon with part of my face in it but not the whole thing.  So I scanned in a picture and cropped it down to my left eye (actually if you look really closely you can see my right eye too, behind the hair), and I think it was [livejournal.com profile] cmshaw who suggested the caption.  Later I made other versions with different eye colors.  I'd love to be able to do four more and have a complete set of deadly sins, but you tell me what colors represent lust, sloth, greed, and gluttony.

2. What's your current relationship status?
If I were with someone, y'all would know it.

3. Ever have a near-death experience?
I don't think so.  I've been in a couple of car accidents and I had general anaesthetic when I had my wisdom teeth out, but I've never felt like I was going to die.

4. Name an obvious quality you have?
Um.  One that's obvious to me?  Risk-aversion, I'd say.

5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
"Here's a health unto Her Majesty", which we sang at a service for the Queen's 80th birthday.  Dangit.

6. Any celeb you would marry?
Oooh.  [ponders]

7. Who will cut and paste this first?
[looks at flist]  Possibly [livejournal.com profile] jgesteve, although now that I've said it he'll probably not do it just to be ornery.  Possibly [livejournal.com profile] juice817, if she has the time.  Possibly [livejournal.com profile] thyesc.

8. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Pierre Curie, who was not Marie.  Tenzing Norgay, who was not Sir Edmund Hilary.  What was the name of that band in Lisa Simpson's nightmare?  Garfunkel, Oates, Nash, and Fox?  :-)

9. Do you have a crush on someone?
Yes.

10. Have you ever vandalized someone's private property?
Not that I can remember.

11. Have you ever been in a fight?
Not a physical fight that hadn't been choreographed, no.

12. Have you ever sung in front of a large audience?
Yes.

13. What's the first thing you notice about the OPPOSITE sex?
Eyes, usually.

14. What do you usually order from Starbucks?
Vanilla latte, unless it's the Christmas season and there's toffee nut latte available.

15. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Yes, but I was like nine, when it was cool to have visible injuries.  Couple of scars on my arm from scratching holes in it.

16. Say something totally random about yourself.
I am so looking forward to hitting the Home Depot next month.

17. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
When my friend had an assignment in college to write a movie about all of us, the role of me was going to be played by Janeane Garofalo.  [beams]

18. Do you wear a watch? What kind?
Not usually, no.  When I do, it's one of two that has more than one face.  This saves me the trouble of resetting the thing when I change time zones.

19. Do you have anything pierced?
My ears -- three rings in the lobe on the left, two in the lobe and one in the upper cartilage on the right.

20. Do you have any tattoos?
A Celtic knot on my right ankle.

21. Do you like pain?
Nope.

22. Do you like to shop?
Yes.

23. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Two liters of Diet Coke -- 69¢ with a fuel purchase!  :-)

24. What was the last thing you paid for with a credit card?
Probably groceries.

25. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
My father.

26. What is on your desktop background?
A picture of the curling club from the warm room.

27. What is the background on your cell phone?
No background.

28. Do you like redheads?
I think most redheads I've known have been decent people, sure.

29. Do you know any twins?
I have known twins in the past.

30. Do you have any weird relatives?
Yes, and so do they.

31. What was the last movie you watched?
In a theater:  Dead Man's Chest.  On DVD:  X2 with audio commentary.  On TV:  "The Sittaford Mystery", with Timothy Dalton as the dead guy and a Miss Marple who isn't Joan Hickson but still wasn't bad at all.

32. What was the last book you read?
Every night I read a few pages of Dorothy L. Sayers' The Nine Tailors.
