Okay, so -- the bass was marking at last night's rehearsal.  The alto is either not feeling well or just, hmm, a little on the flimsy side.  I'm sure she's more audible over the orchestra out in the house than back on the stage, but we can hear the other soloists fine, and her, not so much.  Pity.

Anyway, the thing seems to have gone well tonight.  Decent applause after the first part, before intermission; heap big applause after "Hallelujah", where there was no intermission, but how are you going to stop them; intrusive applause before the thing was actually over, unfortunately.  "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and hath redeemed us to God by His blood, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing.  Blessing and honour, glory, and power be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, forever and ever."  -- which ends on a chord that is clearly not final, you know?  Plus, the conductor was manifestly Not Done Yet.  But he rolled his eyes and kept conducting and we did the Great Amen (four pages of Amen, y'all), and then there was a standing O.  So, on balance, a good night.

But we sit on these horrible risers and there's nothing to lean against, so my back is killing me.

Hey!  And also, the Bailey's commercial that drove me crazy has apparently been re-recorded!  It just came up on the television, and it was a woman's voice instead of a man's, and she said "blah blah hint of caramel" instead of "blah blah hint of caraMEL".  I no longer, therefore, have to refuse to buy the product on account of the bad voice work in the advertisement.  Hee!
