Good for you on moving forward with the voice lessons. There are things I hear in my voice that drive me up the WALL, things that were pointed out to me in the one year in high school where I took lessons that are still present in my voice now and because I'm not really taking any steps to correct it.... One thing that was wonderful two seasons ago was that a Real Live Vocal Teacher was brought in and each section had an hour with her. It was amazingly helpful- even in a group of forty or so, just taking that time to focus entirely on posture and breathing and production made me realise how out of shape I really am vocally. One day, I want to do as you are and get back into lessons because, yeah. :) That urge to step it up is definitely in the air- I'd actually wanted to try out for the alto solos in the sections you mentioned, but I never heard anything about auditions until last night when they were assigned! Ah well.

Have you heard anything about the treble solo? Please tell me we're getting one of the trebles from the Cathedral again. *crosses fingers*
