If I were making a movie about the 2007 Red Sox, I would cast Giovanni Ribisi as Dustin Pedroia.
I mean, right? Okay, so actually I was unable (in my extensive 45-second Google search) to find a pair of pictures that accurately replicated the feeling I had every time this kid came up to the plate -- which, given the way my Cleveland Indians pitched toward the end there, was like really often -- that any second he was going to start telling me about how he liked burning stuff, and disliked stuff that doesn't burn.
I don't know if there are still tickets available (info would be at http://www.cathedralchoralsociety.org), but localfolk might consider coming down to the concert this Friday at 7:30. Yes, granted, we're doing Sir Paul's Ecce Cor Meum, and it's a bit silly. (And the orchestrations make it even sillier.) But it's terribly sincere, and it's a benefit for breast cancer, for which cause a person can put up with quite a lot. And, we're doing two pieces that are quite good as well -- Holst's Hymn to Jesus, which is very good, and Walton's Coronation Te Deum, which is marvelous. So come down! Yes.
Hmm. It's still a little early for oranges, I guess.
