are you wedded to locks of love, or would you consider another charity, like Wigs 4 Kids (a cancer charity, unlike LoL)? There are a few others that I know of, and most of them get way fewer donations than LoL, and could really use them.
My mother sent me a card from another one as well. I know there are several; only, the last few inches of my hair were left over from before when I used to put color in it, and LoL -- probably because of their size, they can afford to have more relaxed guidelines -- is the only outfit I know of that doesn't ban color-treated hair altogether.
ah, yeah, that would certainly be a consideration!
Me, I just got back from having my short hair cut shorter...I occasionally grow it long and then HATE it, so for the past several years I haven't bothered with growing it out. I think this cut finally got all the last bits of the dye out of it, but we'll see for sure tomorrow when I comb it all out after my shower.
Among the upsells the (competent but not exceptional) stylist tried on me was "You'll probably want to add some color." I didn't actually ask her if the various fumes she works among had gone to her head -- but I did point out that I used to add some red, the last of which she'd just cut away, and I'm actually quite pleased with my natural color (and, incidentally, almost complete lack of grey -- two or three silver hairs, each of which I suppose I can blame on a year of grad school). I also, having explained to her that I required a style that involved little or no maintenance, because I would be performing little or no maintenance on it, was a little baffled at the "What product do you put on it?" question. Lady, it was straight hair down to my waist. Product?!
(Yeah, so, Friday afternoon at work. Sorry to babble.)

Seriously though, it looks really cute, although it will take me some time to readjust you in my mind from long-haired!Fox to bobbed!Fox.

I think that posting the pics is the most cathartic part of getting used to having short hair again -- hope you like your new style :)
