surprise vacation
There has been nothing at all for me to do (and almost no one I work for) at work lately, because we're waiting on a response from a client before we can proceed, so I am making the executive decision to take a vacation day and go back to bed. The alarm woke me from a dream in which a group of us -- I don't know, my summer Russian class or something? -- were taking a test that declared itself to be worth 68% of our final grade and then turned out to be one of those silly ones where if you figure out the gimmick you're done in ten minutes, but if you never figure it out it's impossible. One of the answers was "there is no 'salt' in 'eggs'", for example. I wish I remembered the question for that one. One of the questions was "which holiday do the following meals come after?" and the answer was Thanksgiving, because these were menus with a lot of turkey and green bean casserole sorts of leftovers. That kind of thing. I was setting up to ace it. I blamebethbethbeth's Impossible Quiz link from yesterday, now that I think about it, although in the dream I could hear that some of my colleagues were getting frustrated because they hadn't twigged to the fact that it was ridiculous. Poor things were trying to take it literally.
