And:  the maintenance dude came back with a shopvac and then came back again with cleaning stuff and rags.  He'll be back tomorrow to see if the parquet tiles in the entryway have buckled and need replacing, but mainly, before he left he made it where the only things in the kitchen I need to clean are the dishes that had been waiting for me to wash in the first place.

That, my friends, is among the things I like about this building.
