argh

My afternoon kind of sucked, but I'm focusing on letting go of it; there's some shitty stuff going down at work, but as shitty as it is, it's only worth 25% of my time at a maximum anyway, and before it's over everyone will know what I think of it, so I'll survive.  (And predictably, writing this down has made me feel a little better already; I knew just a tiny bit of talking about it would help, but I couldn't get anyone on the phone.)

Tried to run some errands and have retail therapy on the way home, but Borders* didn't have the Moleskine date book I wanted (several other notebooks, yes, but not the 2009 diary), and DSW didn't have any shoes for me, and there was no Moleskine at all at Office Depot (not that I'd thought there would be, but it was worth a shot), so I didn't even try anything on in Loft because I didn't want to deal with the heartbreak that was sure to ensue.  Cute pink dress on the sale rack, I mean to say, but the way my day was going, it would have looked terrible.  They do have a very cute Hufflepuff dress that I may try on some time when other people are around to evaluate it -- solid black top and a black-and-yellow-and-white plaid skirt, which, normally, yellows are as [livejournal.com profile] sanj says Forbidden unto me, but in this case the yellow would be far enough from my face that with a pair of black boots (which I happen to own) who knows, it could work.  Then I'd just have to answer the question of why I was wearing Hufflepuff colors.  :-)

*I did not, while I was in Borders failing to buy a pocket diary, have the kids open the cabinet and sell me Torchwood season 2 on DVD.  I know you all admire my restraint.

I did find that the shower gel I've come to like very much, and which I haven't been able to find anywhere since I left the land of Harris Teeter, is on the shelf at Ulta.  So that's good too.

Blood sugar will help even more.  Time for some dinner.
