progress?

I am feeling better -- or, since I've been insisting all along that I feel fine, I'll say the swelling and ache in my tonsils has abated -- but so tired. Since Friday, I've slept and slept and dragged myself through other things that needed doing -- going to the doctor, visiting with my parents, singing the concert -- and every time needed to take a break much sooner than I'd have expected. I came to work early this morning because there's work that needs doing in advance of a 9:30 meeting that I'd have done on Friday, had I been here, but instead I was home resting. And I'm going to do the work and go to the meeting and then, no fooling, go home and rest.

This just in: the immune system is an energy hog. It will not share. It's kind of bratty that way.

This is why I am at home today. I had a sinus headache last night and a sore throat today and I am going to head that fucker off at the pass.

Ouch. You sang on that throat? My entire neck just tensed up in sympathy from the inside.

My throat was really fine. Nothing rough or raw or sore at all involved with vocal production. The issue was 95% tonsils and 5% immediately adjacent; the voice was fine, and the back of the throat that is what normally hurts when the throat is sore, no problem. So singing was tiring, but not painful. Actually easier than speaking, most of the time.
