Me, I drove to work today. So when I got in the car at about 6pm and the first thing I heard on the radio was that two red line trains had collided between Fort Totten and Takoma -- exactly on my route home had I taken the train, that is -- I picked up the phone and called ellen_fremedon, thinking while it rang pick up, pick up, pick up, this is not the time to be screening your calls.

Ellen picked up and confirmed that she was not on either of the trains involved, and five minutes later College Roommate K called to check that I was not on either of the trains involved, and now I would like the rest of you that live up here in red-line land to do the same. I'll start: sanj is out of town, so she's also out of range of the train crash.

Nope, safe at home. His commute is more often by bike. I'm just glad to have confirmation no one I love was on the trains involved.

I've been worried about you. [hugs] Completely unreasonable to expect everyone to be able to check in promptly when everyone's commute has been all shook up no matter what train they were on -- but I still haven't seen anything from aerye e.g., and I wish she'd speak up.

I was in VA, by car, and am fine. I only found out about the crash after I got back, which was several hours later.
