i need bookshelves.

I'm out of shelf space for books - and almost out of wall space for bookcases, but that's a separate issue. The kind of bookcase I'm after is a very specific folding thing that I have only, historically, been able to find at Bed Bath & Beyond in back-to-school season (which you'll note we're in now), and in the past year or so only at the one in Springfield. I am not optimistic that after this time last year they're even selling the damn things at all, even there, so the logical thing would be to call and ask, and if they don't have any I'll obviously save myself the schlep, and also start thinking about a different sort of bookcase for the future.

But somehow crossing the room and picking up the phone is more effort than I've got energy for just now. :-P

When we first moved into this house, we set aside a room for an honest-to-god library. We bought 9 huge bookcases (arranged in pods) with lots of room leftover after shelving what books we had.

Eight years later, yeah, not so much with the extra room.

So I just ordered 5 more (two big ones and 3 small). And that will completely cover all the available wall space (including under the windows). After we fill these...? I think it might be purging time.
