knitting update

Blocks in complete afghan: 55
Blocks completed as of this evening: 49 (which you'd think would be 89.09090909...%)
Actual percent of work done: 89.1666666...
Target date: August 17
Today's date: August 4
Days remaining: 13, less a few for shipping
Blocks remaining: 6
Blocks per day to stay on target given 13 days: a little less than half a block; blocks are of different sizes, etc., as I've been saying*
Blocks per day to stay on target given, say, 7 days: a little less than a whole block, assuming can work on the thing every day etc.

*BUT LISTEN YOU GUYS, I have just finished the last large square apart from the large square that is the last block in the whole project. What remains is four rectangles, one small square, and that large square at the bottom corner. I'll totally cast on one of the rectangles tonight, and as before I'll get work done at the weekend - the small square is a single-day chunk, etc. WOO-HOO.

Also, my folks will be out of town the weekend before their anniversary (a Monday), so if it arrives on the Monday I'm golden.

If you know that to be true, I will just print my pass at the airport, then-- I'm checking a bag, so I can't bypass the kiosk altogether. I'm more worried about how close I'll be cutting it if I miss the 6:40 bus from Greenbelt, which I shouldn't, but, well, Red Line.
