ups and downs
+ I had a good interim performance-review thing at work yesterday, leading one to some confidence that if we in fact get raises next year, I'll get a decent one.
+ The cricket that was being noisy in the ceiling tiles above my office shut up around 10:30 and I had quiet for the rest of the day, thank god. I don't know if the cricket crawled away to annoy someone else or found its way outside or gave up and died, but within the boundaries of my office, I don't care that much.
+ I finished a big thing yesterday; made good progress on a big thing today that I will be able to finish as requested tomorrow; and asked a couple of questions, apologizing for my own ignorance, which turned out to be because nobody had told me the things I didn't know in the first place (I was eventually forwarded copies of e-mails sent to a group between my being assigned to the project and my being added to the e-mail alias).
+ I caught a research glitch that might have made us look a little foolish, if I thought anybody would bother to read the report and pay that close attention to the details.
+ My partner and I got an A on our article presentation from class two weeks ago, the first week presentations were done, which is cool, because we knew what we were talking about but hadn't really prepared our presentation all that much, and had no handouts or powerpoint slides or anything. I did a lot of chalkboard drawing.
- My Prince Caspian DVD is wigging a little bit, and I don't know if it's the disc or the player.
- ON THE WAY HOME FROM CLASS TONIGHT I BOUGHT CAFFEINE-FREE DIET COKE. WAAAH.
