You'd know she was an opera singer even if they hadn't said so, right? Just by the way she's dressed? (She's doing the best that can be done with this number, as well, I think. "Hallelujah" is a tough act to follow, no matter who sings it.) (But you see how she didn't need to get wiggy and do a lot of decorative figures on a lot of the notes? I'm looking at you, national-anthem girl.)

Aha, a proper full minute of silence. Even better. (I think I just saw a curler looking solemn.)

And how do you get chosen to be the representative to take the athlete's or official's oath? Just out of curiosity, you know.

I enjoyed your impressions of the ceremony.

As for the athlete's oath in Canada.. you need to play hockey. LOL It's even better if your brother was in the NHL. *g*
