sigh.
Granted: the alarm clock, not the storm, woke me up. The storm hadn't quite come in yet. I could hear distant thunder. But then the storm did come in, and how. Dark sky, solid sheets of rain, a couple of hailstones off the windows, swirling winds - there were honest-to-god waves in my flooded parking lot. Breakers, you guys. I've literally never seen anything like it.
And of course the power's out. No ETR yet. I'm betting Sunday morning. It's as if the folks at Pepco didn't understand the meaning of the word "unacceptable".

I heard that, but it wasn't visible from the intersection with Wayne Avenue when my bus went past. I got to work fine, even on time, just by a slightly different route (I decided to avoid University, which the radio later implied had been a wise plan). I have to leave today at 11:30 for a doctor's appointment back in Silver Spring at 1--ugh. Have you heard any ballpark estimates on when the storms are coming back?

All I heard about the next round is that it may be some time this afternoon. They haven't guessed exactly when, nor how bad it's supposed to be.
