right then.

For the moment, I'm locking up comments at LJ and leaving them open here at DW. I don't anticipate leaving LJ for keeps, but while they're monkeying with Facebook connections I prefer to avoid taking the chance. (Side note: I imagine everyone I know who wants a DW invite has already got one, but I've got several, so, you know, let me know.)

Does anyone know of a script or something that will lock comments to many entries at once? I don't want to disable comments to the whole journal, as that will make all previous comments invisible, even to me - but I do for the moment want to disallow further comments. I can Edit Entry and change the comment setting to "locked" one at a time, but it's been nine years, you know, so I'd love it if I could do something globally. Someone must know. Thanks!

Ugh, I may well do the same. This really is a bind.

If you change your commenting default so that only friends can comment and everyone has to fill out a captcha in order to comment, this will stop most people from commenting and affect the grand majority of your entries. It's an 85% solution, but it will mostly work.
