and now

My hair is gone. Chopped it off. Ponytail ready for sending in. What's left is sort of collar-length, or maybe not quite - it curls (well, if I pull it) under my chin in the front, and covers the nape of my neck but not the knob at the top of my spine (which would be knobbier if I were skinnier, but you know what I mean) in the back, with some layers that are even shorter.

I'm confident my hair is darker than this; the sunlight and the flash combined to emphasize the red highlights (natural ones, that is; I haven't put color in it in ages).

I'm not traumatized, as I've done this before (I've actually had it shorter, though not for donation reasons, but chin-length is about as short as I've ever really been comfortable with), but I am as always a little perplexed by how different it feels. I can't toss my hair over my shoulder, obviously, as it doesn't reach my shoulder and thus if I toss my head to throw it back it will fall right back to the front again. And my scalp feels so different, now that every hair hanging from it is shorter. Like, my hair has never been that heavy, but nevertheless, my head feels a lot lighter.

I believe this is more like the real color of my hair.

Will have to concentrate on not overusing the shampoo, the next couple of times I wash it.

Well, it IS cute as hell from the back at least. I'm sure it is from the front too.
