the strangest thing anyone has ever said to me? possibly.

"... Oh my god, your DVDs are in alphabetical order."

He was surprised by this. I was frankly baffled by the surprise. But hey, it turns out there are people who just put things randomly on shelves and figure it's not a huge collection so it won't take that long to find whatever it is they're looking for. ... That's really been the hardest thing for me to understand.

This "from mars" tag has never been so apt. :-)

...all my DVDs and books are alphabetized. Well, the books are divided first into fiction and nonfiction, and then by subject in nonfiction and THEN alphabetized. I am kind of unable to understand why anyone would not do it, actually. How do they find anything?
