2. i apparently don't have enough on my plate right now
Behold, my autumn:
In a normal week, I have rehearsal on Monday. One night of rehearsal a week does not count as overscheduling.
In a normal week, I have curling Tuesday and Wednesday. Two nights of curling a week does not count as overscheduling.
In a normal week, I have class Thursday. One evening of class a week does not count as overscheduling.
All these things together taking up every Monday through Thursday evening starts to get a little much, especially for someone who needs more sleep than she did when she was an overcommitted undergraduate. But it does leave my weekends mainly free.
Yeah.
This weekend, 11/12-14, off to upstate NY to visit my grandmother in her recovery.
Next weekend, 11/19-21, Philadelphia for a tournament.
The following weekend, 11/24-28, Boston for Thanksgiving.
The weekend after that, 12/3-5, Boston for a tournament.
Then comes concert week followed by concert weekend, but at least by then I will be back home in my own bed.
I mention all of this partly in a shameless plea for sympathy (those of you who have just undergone surgery are naturally exempt), but also to make it clear how utterly wrong it is that I am idly contemplating repainting my bedroom. Somebody stop me!

Do NOT paint now! Painting is one of those things that ALWAYS takes longer, and is messier in every way, than it seems like it would be.
Consider yourself STOPPED!
