This morning I looked at my throat as well - and, yeah, the post-nasal drip is black like my soul. (Maybe it is my soul.) And it didn't get that way by my breathing in soot from a scented candle. Another result from Uncle Google says the black mucus is the infection necrotizing, which I suppose is okay if the infection is the only thing dying, and not stuff I'm going to want later (= everything else in there).

I'm going to the doctor instead of going to work.
