The nurse swabbed my throat in addition to taking all my vitals, and came away with a charcoal-grey swab that she put in a little sleeve - but then there was nothing black for the doctor to look at when he came to see me. He said he thought by this time it was pretty clear I was dealing with a sinus infection, and he gave me a ten-day course of amoxicillin. So if it gets better, great, and if not, I can go back and say DUDE, THERE ARE MUSHROOMS IN MY SKULL, and get some other sort of drug, I guess.

He also recommended a Neti Pot, so I finally fucking caved and bought one. We'll see how that goes.
