Ordered earrings. Mostly silver (well, high-polish titanium), one rainbow titanium, with different color beads. Am pleased. All same brand so know relative sizes will be correct. Not in stock, so must wait for order, but still, was getting tired of missing one captive bead, so glad now. (Also closed a number of tabs that had been sitting open for ages.)

where did you end up ordering from? I thought I'd tracked your post to discover the suggestions of others, but apparently I did not.

I ordered from Steel Navel, which nobody had specifically recommended, but had good reviews at Amazon and so on. (Though I went straight to the website rather than going through Amazon.) I got these Anatometal titanium captive bead rings, on account of they were available in the gauges (12, 14, 16) I wanted and the sizes I wanted (1/2", 7/16", 3/8"), and for a bonus I could mix and match the colors of the rings and beads. That kind of flexibility pleases me very much.

(I think I only had the one suggestion, from axiom_of_stripe about Fatty's in Dupont Circle, but I finally had to be honest with myself that it was going to be forever before I went down there and they probably wouldn't have what I wanted.)
