Allegri's Miserere for Ash Wednesday tonight at the gig where they don't mind that I'm not Catholic. They hired me for my top notes, and tonight I sang six high C's in genuine choir-boy style; at a hundred bucks a gig, I figure each of those high C's pulled in a little more than $16. (Though if we count the two times we went through the thing in rehearsal, I'm down at about $5.22, and surely a crystalline high C is worth more than that. :-P ) (Of course I sang other notes too, so of course the math is totally off. I'm just saying.)
