My brother e-mailed me this afternoon to let me know that a family friend was fetching them from the airport on account of Mom was at the hospital with Dad, where they'd gone in the morning because he'd been having shortness of breath. He's home now with antibiotics and an oxygen tank - he insisted it would be more therapeutic to be at home with my brother and sister-in-law and nephew than at the hospital with the nurses - but was too tired to talk to me on the phone, which may be the first time in my life that has happened.

I'm not summoned home, but I've put my phone on vibrate instead of full silent and put it in my pocket instead of in my bag.
