So while this layoff remains the third worst thing that has ever happened to me, (a) I'm not saying it's not a long way behind the second worst thing, and (b) the interview I went on last week went really well and it seems an offer is in progress.

I'm very tired. My throat is a very pretty red color. I'm trying to work out if and when I can get up to visit my brother and his family for a few days now that I have all this free time. I have a gig to sing a wedding in about two and a half weeks. Surely this cold will be gone by then. Dentist today to finish this new onlay. (Now the teeth on the left side are crumbling! Hurrah!)

And Himself got a call yesterday essentializing him back to work. ... We bought a lottery ticket.

An offer being in progress is an excellent thing indeed. Also huzzah for Himself being essentialized back to work?

He genuinely likes what he does, and doesn't like being prevented from doing it. Which is quite on top of it being sucky not to get paid. Back in today solves both of those problems. Huzzah indeed. We genuinely did buy a lottery ticket. :-)
