I've been having strange dreams lately. Everyone says this is likely to happen, especially along about the third trimester (where I am now), and I've always had vivid dreams anyway, which means: yes, it's happening to me now. :-) A few nights ago there was something about elephants with gold-tipped trunks power-washing my mother's house. (They were standing in her driveway and doing a great job, not breaking any windows or anything.) I don't know.
Last night I dreamed I was looking after a baby at a wedding. He was two or three months old*, the nephew of the bride, I think?, and there were two weddings happening on like opposite ends of a place with a sort of lobby in between and for a minute I wasn't sure I was hanging out at the back of the correct one - but he was also kicking his legs while I was holding him, and I remember telling him "Hey, there's another baby in there and we don't kick other babies, that's not nice." And then I woke up and realized that must have meant my own baby was kicking the crap out of me in my sleep. At least my brain turned it into a dream baby kicking me from the outside rather than waking me up.
*He was also eating melon chunks, which I didn't realize until I woke up meant he had to be several months older than that. But he was definitely too small to be any older than about three months. So that doesn't add up, but hey, dreams are weird.
