twenty months

On Monday, the prince was 20 months old.

He's more and more interested in independence. He accepts help going up and down the stairs, but we are not allowed to help him with his fork and his spoon, and in the past couple of days he's insisted on wiping his own hands on his own napkin as well. [snif]

He still wants his daddy to play with him and read to him more than he wants me, but he is no longer in his complete oh-fine-I-suppose-you'll-do phase. He does come over to me randomly and spontaneously hug me, which is pretty great. And he's recently learned to hug around the neck, which is fantastic. (My dad would be over the moon at this point. Kid's bio from day care includes the item "He gives the best hugs!" Wherever his grandfather is, he's proud.)
