dream theater update

My therapist agrees that the recent (and two for two) attempted-sexual-assault theme in my dreams represents The Virus itself and how one is afraid of it as an assaultive force. She also, more interestingly (at least I think so), wondered if my anxiety dreams have had a travel theme only since my dad died or whether I had that sort of dream before. I'll have to look in the ol' "dream theater" tag to see if I can tell.

That is an interesting point for your therapist to make. It makes a lot of sense to me.

My other guess was that it's to do with social distancing and feeling like everyone who is flouting all these stay-the-fuck-away-from-people orders are getting Much Too Close to all of us and that's translating as assault in the dream-world - and she said that whether one has a history of sexual assault oneself or not, we're certainly trained and socialized as girls and women to understand that rape is the worst thing that can happen to us. So either way, it sort of makes sense that that could be what's going on in my subconscious.
