update

They can still See The Thing, but their assessment is "probably benign." (I don't know on what basis they're making that determination, but then it's not my area of expertise.) I'm to go back in 6mo so they can have another look, but until then I'm advised not to worry about it, and the sono tech begged me not to do my own research with Dr. Google because I'd make myself sick. The fact that she was much more concerned about my psychological well-being than about my right breast is weirdly the most reassuring aspect of this morning's adventure.

Glad to hear it. In fact, one of the weirdest parts of my cancer adventure has been the dual instructions to 1) stay on top of it but 2) try not to get too anxious. I did learn to do that. But I did not enjoy getting the advice or learning to find that balance. It involves a lot of CBT-style Squirrel! type self-distraction.
