And a happy new year.

I have a beginning to Missa Discriminis Part Eleven on my hard drive, and a solid chunk of a Sentinel piece as well. One of these days I'll finish them. I will. Nose. Grindstone.

In the meantime, three out of four grad school applications have been sent, so it's all over but the waiting. Fingers crossed, everybody ...

The fourth application -- well, one of these kids is doin' his own thing, I guess. The first three programs were pretty much straight-up linguistics, and I applied for socio- and historical linguistics; social contexts for language change, contact and evolution, that sort of thing. The fourth program is Indo-European historical linguistics with comparative mythology and poetics -- the statement of purpose is going to need some tweaking. :-)

I don't think any of them need fannish letters of reference; better send those straight to me. Heh.

Now I'm off to balance my checkbook and fill out a FAFSA ...
